INSTALLATION GUIDE — STEP BY STEP

    Follow this guide to install and start playing on DamnedLandMU. If you encounter any issues, please check the Troubleshooting thread.

Step 1 — Download the Client

   
1. Go to our Downloads page.
   
2. Click the download link for the Full Client.
   
3. Save the archive to a folder of your choice (e.g., D:\Games\DamnedLandMU).
   
4. Wait for the download to complete.

Step 2 — Extract the Archive

   
1. Right-click the downloaded archive (.zip or .rar).
   
2. Select Extract Here or Extract to DamnedLandMU\.
   
3. Wait for the extraction to complete.
   
4. You should now have a folder with the game files.

    Note: Use WinRAR or 7-Zip to extract. If you don't have one, download 7-Zip (free).

Step 3 — Install Required Software

    If you don't already have them, install:

   
• DirectX 9.0c — Download
   
• Visual C++ Redistributable — Download
   
• .NET Framework 4.5+ — Download

Step 4 — Run the Launcher

   
1. Open the game folder.
   
2. Double-click the Launcher executable (e.g., Launcher.exe).
   
3. If Windows asks for permission, click Yes.
   
4. The launcher will check for updates and download them automatically.
   
5. Wait for the update to complete.

Step 5 — Create an Account

   
1. Go to https://damnedland.ro/register.
   
2. Fill in the registration form (username, password, email).
   
3. Verify your email (if required).
   
4. Your account is now ready.

Step 6 — Login and Play

   
1. Open the launcher.
   
2. Enter your username and password.
   
3. Click Login.
   
4. Select a server.
   
5. Create your character and start playing!

Common Issues During Installation

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

Problem	Solution
Launcher won't open	Run as Administrator; install .NET Framework 4.5+
"Missing d3dx9.dll" error	Install DirectX 9.0c
Antivirus blocks the client	Add the game folder to antivirus exceptions
Launcher stuck on "Checking files"	Check your internet connection; disable VPN
"Cannot connect to server" error	Check server status; disable firewall temporarily
